about
The first "single" released by BUTTERBRAIN at the onset of the Coronavirus Pandemic, 93 Million Miles From The Sun was recorded remotely by the band from their individual, makeshift, home studio setups. One of their most pop recordings, it captured the vibe of New York City in lockdown mode. And was important for the band to release and share, as they were just starting to generate some momentum playing live with their new full lineup, and wanted to share this newly written and recorded "pandemic inspired" song with the world.
lyrics
Well I know, there's toxic gas in the atmosphere
And I know, the sky 'aint falling down
And I know, politicians got us living in fear
And I know, A Higher Power will be found
The earth is spinning round and round, we're moving way too fast
Flying towards the future but we're stuck inside the past
Who knows how to fall in love, when we're always on the run
Trapped inside the atmosphere, 93 million miles from the sun
Quid Pro Quo
They teach us science then deny the changing climate
While demanding full compliance 'cause they fear our true defiance
Won't give us what we need but have no problem feeding greed
Got people lining up the streets 'cause they don't have enough to eat
But after every storm that big old sun comes shining through
We all gon' get through this together her and him and me and you
We may be down but never out we will be stronger there's no doubt
Cause nothing good or bad will last I say this too shall pass
Well I know, we've been feeding corporate greed
And I know, this disease can't last
And I Know, a better day is on the way
And I know, this here too shall pass
The earth is spinning round and round, we're moving way too fast
Flying towards the future but we're stuck inside the past
Who knows how to fall in love, when we're always on the run
Trapped inside the atmosphere, 93 million miles from the sun
A better day can still be found and green will grow the grass
We'll sow the seeds and feed the trees, you know we're built to last
We'll find ways to love again and you know we'll find our fun
Still living life in the atmosphere, 93 million miles from the sun
The earth is spinning round and round, we're moving way too fast
Flying towards the future but we're stuck inside the past
Who knows how to fall in love, when we're always on the run
Trapped inside the atmosphere, 93 million miles from the sun
A better day can still be found and green will grow the grass
We'll sow the seeds and feed the trees, you know we're built to last
We'll find ways to love again and you know we'll find our fun
Still living life we'll be right here, 93 million miles from the sun
